I'm just...

I'm just a girl living in a world where females are seen as an object.
"Why was she wearing such short clothing?" they love to say.
They have the right to wear anything they are comfortable in , that is what I would say.

Today I'm tired of pretending I do not care,
while females out there are living in despair.

Males look upon us with lust.
Eagerly waiting to dim our light.

In the quiet roads we never trust.
As we are not too sure in our own might,
and right to fight.

How long should women live in fear.
With my words today I want to say the time for good is near.

Today I say...

Talk the words you believe
as words have the power to change.

Pen down the words you feel
as poetry has the power to heal.

Always remember , why fear when the time of words , poetry and change is here.

Singatha

I'm a 16 year old girl who is in grade 11 I've been writing poetry for 3-4 years now but before that I've been writing short stories I've never really entered a competition before I just thought I'd try it out now not to win but to gain experience and I appreciate the platform which is given to all old and new poets like me out there unfortunately I don't have another platform where I write my poetry so it's not available anywhere online. Thank you for reading. more…
