The Train I Can't Get Off

Steve Cochrane 1955 (Cape)

I feel like I am on a train
Whose station can't be found.
The engineer tells me in vain
The tracks ahead abound

For those who do not know just how
To get him to slow down,
Since He will never stop it now
And never will in town.

The old conductor says that I
Will be a passenger
Forever though I try and try,
Since leaving I prefer.
