the core

I snapped
I locked the doors
grabbed the last of the orange juice
and ate
a year’s supply of mushrooms

I ripped the ziploc bag at it’s seams
and licked it clean
I scrubbed the whole house
laughed madly for some time at
the practicality of a stop sign’s design
just before my voice box
grew legs and took a walk
I stayed inside
I sank through all seven levels of a sinner’s heart
to where the soul meets body
and there I met God
let me tell you
She is
blindingly
beautiful
