I don't call it Pain

James Groseclose 1983 (United States)

I have to miss you
I have to cry when I'm alone
I have to hurt this way
I have to be here with you gone

Written on stone
I only get to see your name
Reliving memories
Over and over I hit replay

But I don't call it pain
It's not what you taught us
Even though it feels like it hurts
Everyday so damn much
I don't call it pain
It's not what you taught us
Even though it feels like it hurts
You said its called love

We have to miss you
We have to cry when we're alone
We have to hurt this way
We have to be here with you gone

Written on stone
We hear your name
And just like our tears
We fall the same

But I don't call it pain
It's not what you taught us
Even though it feels like it hurts
Everyday so damn much
I don't call it pain
It's not what you taught us
Even though it hurts like hell
You said it's called love

I have to miss you
I have to cry when I'm alone
Yes it hurts sitting here
Why do you have to be gone

I don't call it pain
Missing someone is called love
Why does love hurt
The pain is so much

I don't call it pain
It's not what you taught us
Even though it hurts like hell
Missing you is called love

I don't call it pain
Even though it hurts

James Groseclose

I enjoy writing poetry and songs on a regular basis. I have many I have written. Some have been published. Poetry allows me to express what I am feeling inside. It allows for someone to hopefully find inspiration in their lives. My poetry is meant to be read, meant for others, and meant to be enjoyed. more…
