The leap

You walk towards the edge
Your heart is beating fast
It's time to take the leap now
It's time for you to ask

That moment when you take the chance
You're ready now. You've made your plans
It's time to go participate
And enter life's unusual dance

Sometimes, the leap is glorious
And you will fly with grace
But other times you miss the mark
And land upon your face

The key, though, is to get back up
To patch your wounds and stitch your cuts
Head back up atop the cliff
And jump again to that abyss

It's not an easy thing to do
But push yourself and see it through
You will be glad you played your part
When you have captured someone's heart.
