My heart mends in you

From the moment that we met
I started to heal my truth that
Each piece of me
Began to mend in you.
I love with my shattered heart
And that puzzled me
From the very start
Your soft brown eyes
And delicate self
I left untouched
but for what it meant
To see your smile
And drown in your awareness
Each word fell to earth
Like angelic breath
Now I write you down
And stroke the page
So lovingly
With a feeling as old
As the thought of glee
Yet I know we'll live on
Happily
You busy as an army
Me often lonely or in agony
Your youth pronounced
You hardly eat
This homebody breaking
Under my feet
Alas our eyes met
And that's what it meant
For the length we're apart
It's like the first time we met
Till the time we're old enough
To simply forget
