Would You
Jose Pacheco 1975 (United States)
If I gave you my heart,
Would you keep it safe or would tear it apart.
Would you treasure it like gold,
Or would you throw it out in the cold.
Would hold onto it like it was a treasure,
On a bad day would you remember it and does it fill you up with pleasure.
Would it bring a smile to your face,
And is it a memory you can't replace.
All I worry about is if my heart is good enough for you,
And I ask you to be a part of my heart what would you say or do.
If I really digged deep into my soul,
Would you be there to take control.
In your life could I be a part,
And if yes then you've got my heart.
But take care of it and treat it right,
And it'll be with you everyday and every night.
Even if your alone you know my heart is there,
With this kind of heart your secret's you could share.
Not a whisper would be told,
Would you want this to hold.
Think about it because it's only one thought away,
And is it something you want everyday.
And now you know how I feel,
Would you say yes to make it real.
Then it would be the beginning of two heart's in unity,
What I am saying is it's me for you and you for me.
Before you make your decision ask yourself does my heart feel this way to,
Then answer the question would you?
About this poem
It's a poem about someone asking the one they love if they feel the same and tells them how they feel. This was actually my engagement poem. I wrote this poem 25 years ago and has never been seen by anybody. By the end of this poem it will have you answering yourself. Would You?
