My Perfect Life

I stabbed my baby in the heart
Our love was such a work of art

She tried and tried to heal the wound
When all the while the end was soon

That smile that used to fill my heart
Now much more rare, but still it's art

I convinced her I was different
I really did believe it
I built her up and broke her down
I wish I could have seen it

I think I might have seen it
I blocked it from my brain
I said that I was different
It ended up the same

I razed the fields of love we had
Extending everlasting
Until the good guy turned to bad
Turned into neverlasting

I had a perfect life
But now that life has ended
I'm just a shell, a ghost from hell
My perfect life has ended

I do not see the point of me
The empty failure meat suit
She reassures me, and gives me lofty
Goals to take a new route

My perfect life is over
When life is over people die
I think about it all the time
Why should it be different with mine
