Impressions On Shore
IMPRESSIONS ON SHORE
Sitting here on shore and gazing out at the ocean in front and the sky above,
One is awestruck at the magnificence of this scene.
The wonderful blend of blues and greens and whites; the clouds scattered about in so many picturesque shapes and sizes that seem to barely be moving.
No artist, regardless of how accomplished, could possibly give true justice in a representation of this day.
As you close your eyes, you can feel the warmth of the sun on your face and hear the gentle roar of the ocean.
Opening your eyes you see the shore wait submissively as the ocean tumbles into it.
How many thousands upon thousands of years have these two entities of nature continued their relationship?
One day so peacefully co-existing, the next in fury the ocean may, being provoked not by the shore, but by another influence of nature, strike at the shore unmercifully and, still, the shore submits.
Such beauty, such power, perhaps it has been designed to be the same with all nature, the powerful and the submissive, whether man or beast.
Or, perhaps the powerful were created to help the weak, but instead decided on their own to simply become more powerful.
If only there could come a day when all forces, regardless of origin or intensity, would work for the benefit of all.
This is a hope, a prayer, a lofty and yet possibly reachable goal.
