Mud from the green

Heather Lydia Thornhill 1981 (Manchester)

I was the fastest rugby player on the green
Noone could catch me
I was so green I was never mean
I was so gazelle
My hands so strong
I could fall and get up like the wind on a mong
My eyes saw their hands reaching for me
I could not touch them
I had to be free
I was faster than the green terrain
I saw each bump before i came
I was hardly ever to blame
For dropping the ball
For loosing it all
All the children knew my name
Hever they cried can we play again
