Hand in Hand...(Fire from Ice)

If your plane went down, and I was on the ground.
The pain would shoot straight from my heart through my hands.
But if I was there with you, sitting hand in hand.
I’d have the strength to smile and face the end.

When I’m on my own, I can always face the day,
& if I’m all alone, I know I’ll find a way.
But if it’s been too long, my blood, it fades to grey.
& eventually my heart will turn to clay.
Frozen inside, I will not break.
Completely numb to life, in every stride I take.
I will survive this cold embrace.
But maybe you will save me from this place.

When you’re in my arms, I know you feel me shake.
Energized with the charge of your warm embrace.
When you touch my face, & when you hold my hand.
There’s nothing that can break me in the end.

When I’m on my own, I can always face the day,
& if I’m all alone, I know I’ll find a way.
But if it’s been too long, my blood will fade away.
& then heart is stone, chiseled with the words, ‘I’m okay’.
Frozen inside, I will not break.
Completely numb to life, in every stride I take.
I must survive this chilling wake.
& hope that you will save me from this place.
