The King's Children
The King’s Children
The sun peeked through my room and painted my eyelids in a red hue. I lifted my head off the pedestal that recharges my intellect. My mind phasing through sleep and wakefulness. It’s time to get out of bed, I leave the comfort of my room to meet my brothers and sisters. Our lives are like orbits we respect our boundaries, and like the gods we rarely align. I’m curious about how we can change this separation. To unite our kingdoms and rule together. First, we must understand who we are in relation to each other, so I asked Father to describe this for us.
“Father, what are we?”
"I’m glad you asked this, you shall receive an answer. This question is important so gather your brothers and sisters."
I run outside to where they are playing and tell them that Father is calling us inside. Some of them groan, others nod in acceptance, a couple complain and refuse to come. I plead with them so they can know too what Father is speaking of.
I turn around and sprint into the doors that bring me into the kingdoms central chamber and find my siblings sitting around father. We surround him like planets in a solar system orbiting the sun. I sit in the third space away from him as he speaks. His words fill my chest with strength and authority as though the words sound out of my very own lips.
“One of you asked me to explain what you are so I decided it was important that you all come and listen. It’s a shame that some of you aren’t here because who you are reflects greatly on what you will hear.
You are children of the King, royalty.
When something is royal you know that it comes from a long line of special inheritance. You may wonder what that might be in your case. You see, I, the Father, am Lord and King among all things. You have been created in my image; thus, you are to inherit my duties. This special inheritance is both a power and responsibility. You must rule over all creation yes, but a good leader serves his community. You cast into the world laws to cultivate the good sown into the soil of this Earth by demonstrating the characteristics required for those fruits to grow. What are these laws? What are these fruits? What is the special inheritance? All questions that require a suitable explanation. These laws are your principles. It is the rock upon which you lay down your foundation for thinking, interacting, and achieving. You establish what you hold most critical in your brief existence, then you mold your world around that belief. Through me you can learn to achieve anything, think anything, and interact with anything, because I am all things. This is the inheritance you’ve been granted.
The next step in royalty is bloodline, your roots run deep. Through my first born you were born, therefore there is no questioning your legitimacy.
Finally, royalty is recognized by our abundance. Wealthy we are in spirit and flesh. We are recognized by the virtues we represent. Bolstering our presence, we are grander than our bodies let on by the density of our spirits. Royalty don’t adorn themselves in false treasures. Our spirits will adorn our bodies with the appropriate gifts. Seen or unseen there is no right or wrong in the appearance of these things. The truly wealthy will remain in the light of greatness.
In short, my children, royalty is a title given to those who satisfy these criteria.
Those who understand the power they have over themselves, have roots in the bloodline of the Earth, exemplify abundance in spirit and flesh, and serve the global community. This is what it means to be royalty my young kings and queens. Now you understand the blessing that you hold within your being.”
About this poem
This poem is a distillation of the unifying perspective among living beings, and the intrinsic value that humanity and all who participate in the human experience has access to. I'm inspired by the community religion tries to build through the concept of soul and spirit. This is an effort to attach a sort of christian mystical tangibility to the concept.
