Maybe Tomorrow

MAYBE TOMORROW
By Cindi Fifer
The sea calls to me.
I reply "No, not now but maybe tomorrow."
The sea asks me, "If not now, when?"
"I don't know," I say to myself.
"Why should I go to you, with my whole self, when I don't know if you will protect me from the storm?
What do I have to gain?"
A wise man once said, turn your No's into Yes.
I wonder why I would do this for you.
So many others you could choose to play with,
"Why me?"
"I respect and admire you, isn't that enough?
To trust in you is another story.'
Maybe tomorrow, if you call to me...
I will say "yes.
