When You Don't Learn the Lesson

When you were young, a parent taught
You what to never touch;
But if you didn't learn what not
To grasp, then pain as such

Was what took place when fingers burn
Or they got cut because you played
Instead of showing you had learned
What to avoid the day you strayed.

The Hebrews in the wilderness
Did not learn lessons well.
That's why they often did confess
Their sins; from grace they fell!

So many people pick and choose
Just what they will obey
As if they'd nothing good to lose
Like God turning away.

God never said commandments were
Suggestions to ignore.
So if we do what WE prefer,
No blessings and much more!

That's why we must do what we can
To learn the Bible ways,
Because they are God's hopes and plans
That we must all obey!
