the seasons change
so does love
but still, I allow myself to imagine how even more beautiful you look today
and ache for that same feeling of excitement
each time you text me
your name lingering on my tongue
like a sweet aftertaste
what still doesn’t die inside of me
is that burning desire to restart
to rekindle that leftover tension from the past
to make our way back and rewrite what was
