Shoulder's

Shoulder's

The hot sky is as bright as the hue in your eyes
Can get as dangerous as the blue in your lies
It can be as peaceful as the T in your ties

You should have told me long ago of who you wanted to be
How was I supposed to know
You wanted to be just like me

The puffy clouds float on by,
They wear coats but don't cry,
The softness causes your lips to sigh

My little boy grows so fast
Will you please slow down
The clouds float on past
As you lie on the hard ground

I say what do you want to be one day
He was quiet not sure what to say
Then he looked at me in a funny way

And he said I want to be your son
That was the moment my heart was spent
When time first begun
But where has all the time went

As I turn to look at my son
I said no seriously hun
That is all good and fun

But what do you want to do with your life
He said now that I'm older
Maybe one day have a wife
But I'll still need your shoulder

My boy is soon to be 14 on me
And growing so healthy
One day he will finally see

That my shoulder won't be around forever

Dedicated to my son for his 14th birthday I love you buddy!
