Tiny Bells

Blank verse
I like the sound of bells
Especially the tiny ones

Hanging on braided thread in the doorway
Barely sounding as I pass

Their essence swept away
Not to be hushed

But always diminishing
Like a plucked string

Melting relentlessly
Becoming still
