Colours and Shades
Sukanya Suryanarayan 1982 (Vadodara)
Standing beside the window I see, the world outside-"so grey",
Away from the sight I wanted to flee, but something inside... told me to stay.
An urge to change the portrait pale, I decide to give it a try,
To paint it with hope joy and happiness, leaving aside the sorrows-damp and dry...
With the weasel of space and the paper - my mind.. I stroke the brush of thoughts,
Adding feelings and emotions-the colors and shades,
To the picture so different, so unique in its sort.
The color of red for the love hidden, and a little brown for the kind..
A little warmth, faith and affection, awaited so long and how easy to find.
The peace of green and the harmony of white, a little tinge of yellow to make it just bright.
With the determination of blue, I walk, with my head held high... to face challenges and conquer new heights..
The darkness of black that covers the day, entering the silent night,
to vent out the dreams of eternal bliss and gay, to believe in what is right!!
The finishing touches with pink, violet and their shades, the master piece is done..
The picture perfect framed in my heart I ow view this small world.
Its beauty radiates-the work of art.
The world that once seemed so frail.. now is changed for me to stay...
The brightness of it shall never fade.. Lovely its is, b'coz of its colors and shades!!
