Realm of the road
In the realm of roads, where journeys unfold,
Where wheels spin and stories are told,
I’ve traveled far & wide, through sun and rain,
But now dear folks, its time to refrain
The open highways,  always a guide
Thru landscapes vast, with none to confide
From bustling cities to mountains high,
I’ve carried the weight, without a sigh.   
Seasons change, as they always do
And now my heart seeks a path that’s anew,
The business no longer holds it’s sway
It’s time for me to bid farewell, TODAY.
I’ll miss the rumble and the diesels roar,
The camaraderie shared, it’s time nomore.
My dreams beckon, they whisper my name
It’s time to embrace a different game
No more miles on the winding track,
No more sleepless nights or tow-bills aback.
I see through the facade, the political game
tired of the lies and the empty claims.
For life’s adventure calls me elsewhere,
To explore horizons beyond compare.
So I stand, wondering gratitude profound
For the lessons learned from trucking renowned
But the time has come to spread my wings
And let the wind carry the songs I sing
Farewell, dear partner, corruptable friend
A chapter cherished, that must now end
The memories etched in my head will remain
As I embark on a new journey, free from the ball & chain.
