LIGHT

In all that is wrong in our lives there is one Light.
It shines through everything.
Through the heartache and pain.
Through the seemingly never ending problems that life find to throw in our path.
This light, this beacon, this gift.
The one thing that keeps us from finding the of our rope.
And tying it like those rope they back when.
Back when even the brightest of light could shine no hope on what was dark.
Even the brightest of days seem grim.
This light...my light... glows dim.

About this poem

I received a letter from Howard Ely informing me that Light was certified as a semi-finalist in your 2006 International Open Poetry Contest. I never found out who won that contest so I thought I would re-submit it, (just for fun).
