Den 2den Februar 1864

Hans Christian Andersen 1805 (Odense) – 1875 (Copenhagen)

Tillad, at jeg tager Ordet,
Ja, læser det op denne Gang;
Her sidder en Digter ved Bordet,
Der ikke har bragt en Sang,
Uagtet hans Hjerte banker
I Glæde, deeltagende, rigt;
Der er i de svulmende Tanker
Nok Stof til et Brudedigt.
Men Harpen er stemt kun for Kampen,
For Danmarks ærlige Sag.
I To greb Aladdins-Lampen,
Det er Eders Bryllupsdag.
Paa den Kanonerne runge,
Husk det i Tiden engang!
Nu Landsoldaterne sjunge,
De døve min Bryllupssang.
Der er en Storhed i Tiden,
I den er Velsignelse med,
Det sande I nu og siden,
Velsignet i Kjærlighed!
