'in the hollow'

in the hollow
resides existence that was lost, as it was once found.
she danced at the edge of the lake, and walked among the trees
bathing in songs of the swaying leaves.
there was a comfort when she came to the cliff,
and as she plummeted the water enveloped her skin.

she paused-

still:

in the moment as she sank,

her white dress, hair and limbs undulating, mingling amongst the viscous fluid
forming the image of a statuette, carved from marble in the depths.
darkness flirted with columns of light,
as she pressed towards the surface.

bursting through, Her breath deep:
hair dripping and sl ic ked back.
She made her way to the shore,
expectations high,

she was still alone, when her dress began to dry.
