Emily's Room

Four windows in a corner room
With views both far and near,
Were used to "see" a life attuned
To self-views so austere.

She knew so much and felt much more.
The words she would not say
Were written down for her to pour
Out thoughts both night and day.

So many thoughts few ever heard.
Her life in written form
Was seen by some to be absurd.
They did not fit the norm.
