Violin

Bo Bode 1969 (S.C.)

Living on this somber violin…
Oh how I try not to bend.

About this poem

This one started out 1/2 page long. It described living at a place where some bad stuff happened. Everywhere I went was a reminder of the pain and loss. I found this sentence in the middle of all that chaos and it summed it all up.

Bo Bode

I was born in 1969, during the magical 70’sof childhood and confusing 80’s of my teenage years. I grew up in the upstate of South Carolina. Did good, did bad, made mistakes and made good decisions. Worked at a Summer camp and met my wife when I was in my early 20’s. I wrote some in my youth until we started a family, that changed all my focus. We raised 2 kids and the 4 of us are now more of a guide for each other in this life. During this time away from writing I let life fill me with experience with every emotion possible and I draw from that when I write now. more…
