Lonely

Lonely

Walking in the house, not knowing who else is around
Went to that drawer, That specific item I found

Locked in solitary confinement, on the row of death
Never really knowing if this would be my last breath

Parents walked in on me, And now I’m glad they did
A night in the hospital, I couldn't drop off the grid

No one around, just me and a therapist
Talking about my feelings, as she writes a list
I don’t think that worked, in fact she just missed

The psychiatric ward, feels like the walking dead
Thinking could this really be my death bed

No one to hold
Feeling so cold, like a kid in the snow
Time going so slow, like a snail on a hot summer day

Engage with me, nobody dared
Though this feeling that nobody cared

All I could say was…
I’m Stephen and I can do it!!

About this poem

This poem is about my journey this past summer. When I felt alone and secluded. This poem is about when I was at my lowest and I wanted to share it in a poem.
