Dead man's bride

michaele mechling 1976 (New Kensington)

Oh god I hurt and in my heart it does ache.
It is with me in sleep and when I wake.
I touch the place where your head would lie.
My mind knows your gone my heart can't say goodbye.
I thought I heard your voice so I quickly turned aside.
It was just the wind I bowed my head and cried.
I could swear I saw your face in the flickering light.
I keep wishing we had more time or just another night.
You are gone and it is to late.
I raise my fist to the sky cursing god and fate.
He took your love, laughter you from my side.
So now I am a lonely dead man's bride...
