The Unknown Poet
Joe Strickland 1986 (Hobbysville, SC)
The unknown poet, a legend in his time,
Runs three hundred hangovers in a year,
His sex drive stronger than men half his age,
His words are like poetry in motion,
The world knows not his talent, his passion,
But he continues to write with devotion.
A muse he has, a woman of devotion,
She inspires his words, his art, his time,
Their love is like a fire, full of passion,
Their nights filled with romance and desire,
Their bodies in a dance of pure motion,
A love that rivals lovers of any age.
He lives life to the fullest every age,
Breaking the rules with his wild devotion,
Taking risks with each move, every motion,
Living each day as if it were his time,
Embracing every moment with grand desire,
Living a life filled with fire and passion.
But like any man, he seeks more passion,
A desire that grows stronger with each age,
A search that leads him to find a new desire,
A woman who matches his love and devotion,
A soulmate who will share his precious time,
A love that flows in perfect motion.
He finds her and they move in pure motion,
Their love an explosion of pure passion,
Their lives filled with each other's time,
Their love growing stronger with each age,
They dedicate their lives to their devotion,
Living each day with love and desire.
The unknown poet continues with his passion,
Writing poetry that is pure motion,
His talent and devotion, a gift at any age,
His legacy will be felt for all time.
