MORNING WALK
mad hippie poet 1974 (new jersey)
You can see things when your eyes are opened and questions are not half-spoken. I have been spending a lot of time alone, not because I am alone, but because I found a house with four walls and a roof that I call my forever home.
I go on my morning walks by myself because, at last, I enjoy the company and everything I hear and see. I stop to take a short break and sit on the same park bench at the same time every day, becoming one with nature and listening to what they have to say.
It takes dying to learn how to live, yet there are things that I remember during my morning whispering there is no need to forget, only to forgive, for it's for your peace, not theirs. There is no need to continue to walk through closed doors.
These morning walks have taught me so much, like the warmth of a smile or, underneath my feet, the simple touch of grass.
