Final Cut

I sit back and look at myself and the collection,
What happens when I grab the handle and release?
No one knows my secret, I want to be done.
The scars that show, those that don't, I hide with ease.
I stare into space, pondering my life
Call me crazy, but I'll never stop loving my ex-wife.
These sharp blades became my friend,
As I had to sit back and accept my marriage is at an end.
Many people leave notes of their demise
I'm not trying to be just a sad person in disguise.....
The first cut is never the deepest,
It's the final cut, for the vultures to feast.

About this poem

While in therapy, I have been told it is better to just write things down as if I were to act on my thoughts. Writing things down has a potential of tricking my mind into thinking I already acted on negative impulses, and hello poetry! I have moved to poetry and stand-up comedy as a vent to keep myself safe...... from myself.
