Broken Mirror

A broken mirror lies before me,
Shattered pieces reflecting only debris,
Each shard, a fragment of what used to be,
A reflection of life, now just a memory.

Once, it was a mirror of beauty and grace,
Reflecting an image of a smiling face,
A reflection of joy, of love, and of light,
A symbol of hope, shining ever so bright.

But now, it lies in pieces on the ground,
The shattered glass, making no sound,
A reflection of a life, now torn apart,
A symbol of pain, piercing through the heart.

Each shard a memory, etched in glass,
Of moments lost, too painful to grasp,
A broken mirror, once so whole and complete,
Now reflecting only pain and defeat.

But in the brokenness, lies a hidden truth,
A chance to rebuild, to start anew,
To piece together the fragments of the past,
And create a new reflection, one that will last.

So, I pick up the shards, one by one,
And slowly, piece them together, until it's done,
A reflection of strength, resilience, might,
A symbol of hope, shining ever so bright.
