She
Murry Priyanshu Rao 2009 (Rayagada, Odisha)
The woman bears the womb for a smile
And sheds tears for a tender child.
Who flaunts her nuptial chain as a mousy bride
And tinkles her bangles with utmost pride!
Her alluring charm and graceful drape
Vivid vermilion on her striking face.
At bed she sings a sweet lullaby
And caresses the baby on her slender thigh.
The epitome of boldness and beauty,
Quintessential in all her duties.
Does all the work with utmost pride!
Hauls the family at every stride.
But what a prejudice and cliche!
Women as plague we potray!!
Why still few consider them as vice!
Why are they still ostracized!!
It's she who is the benefactor of humankind,
It's she who makes the family thrive!
It's she who ignites the lives of blind,
It's she who makes the world strive!
