The blood of the unspoken

Close your eyes and listen to the silence.
Words unspoken, some of love to chosen family
Words unspoken, some to pain of the past
Words unspoken. Words unspoken.

Fear and safety, winning?
Are we safe if we are scared?
I look and see a country I fear will one day kill me.
Eradication some call for, yet we are still safe…
Annihilation called for, yet we are still safe.

I ask you, what would it take for me to show why we are unsafe?
Do we need to be killed publicly?
Do we need to put pink triangles on our arms?
What will it take? What will it take?

“It’s all in God’s plan, trust in him” Who is this man of death you speak of!?
There is now church in the state, freedom is a myth here. A myth here…
Freedom is a myth in the land of the free.
Our flag is painted in blood of the innocent,
The blood of indigenous people,
The blood of poor,
The blood of the unprivileged,
The blood of children,
The blood of LGBTQIA+

Hide who you are, be quiet, don’t tell.
Detransition is always an option for me, but then how I die changes.
Killed for being trans or death by suicide…
Tried to stay, tried to stay.

Leave for safety, and risk it all is the only other option now.
Nowhere is truly safe in the land of the free,
the free land of the rich elite.

A rebellion is starting,
rummers are spoken of resistance rising,
I am no fighter. I cried out in pain, with the slamming of a gavel.
Accused of lying for speaking honestly after being raped.
Pleading guilty in fear,
knowing our system I just run.

About this poem

This Poem was written by a young trans girl and passed onto me, I know ever little about this poem except three things... It is about the USA, It has to do with current events, and she isn't alone in that fear.
