Perception's Paradox : The Journey of Self-Acceptance
Mawphniang Napoleon 1993 (Ri Bhoi)
In this world we inhabit, we often seek to sway
the thoughts and opinions of those we encounter.
We yearn to be understood and seen in our light,
to have our journey acknowledged with admiration.
Yet, we are met with judgment, and sometimes derision,
and find ourselves powerless to change their perception.
Our journey is ours, and we must embrace it,
no matter how much it deviates from the norm.
We cannot alter the thoughts of others,
nor can we change their preconceived notions.
For they are firmly entrenched, set in their ways,
and no amount of persuasion will sway.
We must learn to accept ourselves, as we are,
and find solace in the knowledge that we are enough.
Our choices, our actions, are ours to make,
and we should not be swayed by external influence.
For the only person we can change, is ourselves,
and it is in our power to shape our destiny.
It can be a daunting task, to forge ahead,
when faced with the disapproval of our peers.
But we must learn to normalize acceptance,
of our true selves, even when others don't.
We must remember that our journey is unique,
and we alone are responsible for its outcome.
We cannot expect others to understand,
the intricacies of our individual paths.
But we can choose to live our lives authentically,
and find joy in the journey, regardless of the opinions of others.
For it is our choices, our actions, that define us,
and ultimately shape the course of our lives.
So let us embrace the power within us,
to choose our own way, and to chart our own course.
Let us not be deterred by the thoughts of others,
nor be swayed by their judgments and opinions.
For the only person we can change, is ourselves,
and it is in our own acceptance, that we find true freedom.
