She’s A Beauty Queen

Alexis Monk 2023 (Saginaw Michigan)

As she
twisted and turned she was
the loveliest of them all. She was more
beautiful, then a red rose. Her eyes sparkled like
the moon's reflection off of a
crystal clear lake. Her beauty
deserved a crown. She looked like she was a queen
with her hair done up like that. From
head to toe she was so ravishing. A
dress like hers is something from
a fairytale. She
looks like she was made to be in a movie
and this will surely not be her closing scene. All through the night I watched her and I wanted to be her.
Don’t be jealous, they would tell me but my mind wouldn’t let me. All I wanted to was to be the beauty queen that she was. What happened to me? Why am I so jealous? I do think that I could have won but she is so perfect.
You don’t know how it feels and I mean she does deserve it but it still hurts. I am so sorry to feel this way but this is how I am feeling. The night was grand but I still wished I was the one who won.
