Grandma Kathy

Mary Gifford 1989 (Rensselaer)

Every time I left you
I told you to be good
Stay out of trouble
You would laugh
My heart would melt
What I would do
For that laugh
If only I could remember
What it sounded like
Your face covers my walls
You have been gone
Two hundred eighty-nine days
And nine months
But who is counting?
I am still waiting on you
To come visit me in my dreams
