FEAR
FEAR
I find it hard to sleep with you within me
I find it difficult to move with you next to me
I cannot do anything in your presence, you fear
And you fear, I don’t know myself with you next to me.
I have good ideas without you around me
Ideas to build my expected and bright future
Ideas to make me someone within my area and my country
But with you next to me, my ideas are just not ideas
You fear, are not good for any envisaged life
I plan for my future without you
I finalise them with you afar from me
And as I am to implement them as planned
You, fear, come with advises never asked for
Advises to terrorise my future and good hope
Advises that are meant to shatter my and great noble plans.
Why so jealous of people you fear?
Why an enemy inside me you fear?
Who requested your advises, you tormenting fear?
Why like this harrowing fear?
You fear, destroyer of future and the shatterer of good fortunes
Those who despise you enjoy their lives
Those who do not listen to you prosper in their lives
Those who care less about your presence are spoken about all over
Those who take no advice from you are great and honoured.
Those who live by you are in poverty and starvation
Those who take your advice are hard to recognise
Those whom you control are in hospital beds treated for ills hard to cure
Those you manipulate have no future and life in them
Of course, because they fear your brood, risk.
Fear
About this poem
It talks about the disadvantages of fear to us as the people. We are unable to further our goals for the fear on the unknown. We plan but when we are to commence or actualize our plans we are struck by fear and then stop to do what we wanted to.
