How do I express myself when I am so used being told to shut up, sit down, no one cares about how you feel, what you think, of what you have or want to say….
I DON’T KNOW!!!
What do I say when you ask me what my opinion is….
I DON’T KNOW!!!
Having my voice want to be heard is NEW to me.
You ask me to tell you how I feel about EVERYDAY things, ALSO new to me.
My RESPONSE to that majority of the time is...
I DON’T KNOW!!!
I am discovering that I am NOT USELESS.
That I am IMPORTANT.
My opinion DOES MATTER.
My voice WILL BE HEARD.
AND that TRUE LOVE is REAL!
My answer to ALL of this 2yrs ago would have been...
I DON’T KNOW!!!
I am SO CONFUSED on what I should and or should not do.
Do I keep my head down and stay silent like I have my WHOLE LIFE?
You tell me to SPEAK UP…
I DON’T KNOW!!!
Do I wait to be spoken to before I speak like I’m use to?
You tell me I have a BEAUTIFUL VOICE…
I DON’T KNOW!!!
Do I walk 10 steps behind you like men before you told me to do?
You tell me I am your EQUAL and to walk BESIDE YOU…
I DON’T KNOW!!!
Well, if I DON’T KNOW is my answer for EVERYTHING…. Then WHAT DO I KNOW????
I KNOW NOW… I am A PERSON that MATTERS!
I KNOW NOW… I have FEELINGS that MATTER!
I KNOW NOW… I have an OPINION that MATTERS!
I KNOW NOW… I am CAPABLE of LOVE, of BEING LOVED, and of LOVING OTHERS!
I KNOW NOW… I am NOT someone’s DOORMAT that can be WALKED OVER!
I KNOW NOW… I AM WORTH IT!
I KNOW NOW… What TRUE LOVE IS!
I KNOW NOW… The HEART my SOUL has LONGED FOR!
I KNOW NOW… YOU ARE THE ONE SENT TO SAVE ME, to SAVE MY LIFE, to SAVE MY SOUL, to SAVE MY SANITY, to SAVE MY HEART FOR BECOMING ICY COLD!
I KNOW…… I LOVE YOU MORE THE THERE ARE STARS IN THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE, MORE THEN THERE ARE BLADES OF GRASS ON EARTH, and MORE THEN LIFE ITSELF!!
My ANSWER for everything will NO LONGER be...
I DON'T KNOW!
