NEW WORLD

BENEATH  THE   PEELED   BACK   SKIN
RAW   RED   BLOOD   FLOWS   WITH IN

THE     BARE   NAKED   BONE  STARES VACANTLY
ALL ALONE   IT   WEEPS
FRACTURED  INTO   A   THOUSAND   PIECES

AS   TIME   GRADUALLY  PASSES
EACH  DROPS ON TO  THE EXPENSIVE   ITALIAN  MARBLE
COVERING   THE   FLOOR   TRANSPARENTLY

WHITE   GHOSTS

AS EVERY  BODY   LOSES IT  BREATH
DEATH  TAKES  THEM  TO  A   NEW   WORLD
DARK  AND   ABANDONED
DERELICT   AND   STALE

IN  SMALL  BOATS THE CARCASSES  ARE  CARRIED
BEYOND  THE BLUE   HORIZON
DEEP  IN  TO  A   DARKENING  ABYSS

ONLY  A  FEW  WILL RISE FROM  THE   ASHES
IN  THE   FORM OF  A   PHOENIX
FORGIVEN  OF  THEIR   SINS
