A Wife's Journey
B.J. Turner 1953 (United States)
A Wife's Journey
I took the liberty of saying what I do in a marriage of vows and all that may entail. Under the impression, I was mentally prepared to have that person in my life. A love that embraces the heart, the sounds of rippling laughter, and the musical notes that danced on each blood cell sending fine tunes of melodies. Then the light became dim, and a tragedy entered our lives. Our conversation and communication disappeared only to show themselves as a spark of temporary endearment when we did speak. No more intimacy that came rarely. A turbulence of pain from the hurt within because of a lack of knowledge of its plans. Yet strength comes from the soul bringing an unfamiliar dance inside your home. Stepping to the beat of the love you remembered through the tears of anguish and uncertainty—cries of silence within so that no one could hear the despair I was experiencing. A gemutlich smile always ensures him I will always remain by his side. He will not be alone in enduring the suffering from the excruciating flames burning his flesh to the bone.
We will both be at rest and peace, for we know the light shall shine again. Accepting what has been bestowed upon us through faith. Our journey becomes steps counted and used wisely to embrace the beauty taken for granted but now appreciated with respect.
Ah, as we embellish on new beginnings of tomorrows yet to come through the eyes of determination, finally understanding the true meaning of life. Love and sacrifice. The passion for existing, for extending a helping hand to those that light has become dark without hope. To cheer on the possibility of a new day, not looking back on what was but for what is to come, a new beginning set forth by perseverance, believing it will, it has and forever shall be, our love, our life, your wife, for eternity.
