Momma don't go
Momma don't go 1973 (Michigan)
With a long blank stare out the window
The wind is howling amongst the blowing snow
A daughter is whimpering, and says "But momma I don't want you to go!"
The women turns to her daughter, and replies "Don't be sad, be happy for me this what I want you see"
The daughter cried, her momma held her close.
Tears traveling down both of their cheeks.
That bond of motherly love stronger than words can speak
The woman was not worried for herself, She knew she would be just fine.
She was worried about her husband, and daughter whom were to be left behind.
One day they would all be together when it became the right time.
Finally after a little time past the daughter wiped away her tears.
She looked long into her mother's eyes.
Her mother watching her back.
She says "Momma it's now my turn to take care of you, like you have me all of these years"
