Issiah's Coin Collection

While fixating over our daily issues this morning
somewhere across the world or even closer
an innocent child also wonders

They ponder over what another day
of survival will be like
Issiah is one such person

Frantically searching through your misplaced garments
and money driven by frustration
there are those who also scour the polluted ground
seeking man's disregarded coins

For Issiah these pennies and dimes are priceless
these pieces of copper and nickel are the difference
between a hopeful day and a despairing one
what is useless to some is a blessing to another

Enveloped in the safety and sanctity
of your sheets at night
permit yourself the sensation of being covered in
sack cloth or newspaper

The bed is welcoming
as the ground is inviting
to those who like the penny
have been tossed aside

Amongst the quest of the abandoned
may lie the next world leader
a teacher to influence a new generation
or one who may save others
from the path of self destruction

Issiah may possess the power to heal others
if others are willing to heal him first

to be human is to always have hopes and dreams
Issiah is no exception our aspirations are no better
then his

time to get up and go to work
a new day begins

time to get up and gather coins
when will his day end
