I know I must let go of you
but for now I keep you close.
I cannot bear the finality
that your death has now imposed.
I just want to be where you are
but you've gone where I cannot follow.
I barely have the strength to stand
as I have never been more hollow.
I lose myself in thoughts of a universe nearby where the darkness didn't take us and you are still alive.
I never wanted anything
the way I wanted you.
The world feels so empty now,
by your absence i'm consumed.
I still hear the words you spoke.
I feel your lips upon my face.
I remember your hand holding mine.
I dream of the way you taste.
Never has my soul fit with another
the way it fit with yours.
Like I was pulled to you
by an unstoppable force.
You captivated me.
I've never felt such desire.
With just the slightest touch,
my skin would be on fire.
I cant escape the sadness.
A million tears I must have shed.
I wake up every morning
to remember that you're dead.
I miss you every second.
I ache for you down in my bones.
I cannot  accept
that I must face this world alone.
i carry a piece
of your heart within mine
and I pray that we meet again
in due time.
