Untitled

Feeling so insignificant
All I can do is cry
Withered like a plant
Starved of basic needs
My hands are shaking
My heart shattered
 Doesn’t anyone hear my plea?
This isn’t easy, and I despise the rhymes
But how do you explain finding your soulmate at the wrong time?
The elusive knowledge of the universe
I have some choice words for her
Why dangle something precious in front of someone?
What an evil core.
I’ve always been a hopeless, romantic
It lessens more with age
Maybe it lessens because it’s unrealistic and that just brings more pain
Because who are we if we don’t have hope?
Just that much closer to the end of the rope.
I wanted to be a priority
To feel needed
Instead, I’m left on the floor weeping
And feeling utterly defeated.
I hope you know how much I love you and how deeply I care
There is that word again, lingering in the air
I sound like a child, but this just isn’t fair.
Why do I feel like I have to sacrifice?
I’ve given up so much already
Just because I carry it all
Does not mean that it’s not heavy.
