Life lessons

Pamela Deck 1967 (Idaho)

Each morning I awake, The days go by so fast,
I’m reminded of life lessons I’ve learned from my past
In these trying times, easier to hide behind a mask,
Each day a constant struggle, just to try and stay on task.
Some lessons in life Will rip your heart out,
Fill your eyes with tears, And leave you with doubt.
Your stomach a mess, all tied up in knots,
Your mind is all clouded with all of these thoughts.
The people that come into your life within reach,
Will have a lesson to learn or a lesson to teach.
Not without reason or some purpose they say,
For the ones who come into your life and stay,
And show you they love you, each and every day.
There are some that move on
Through the bridges they’ve burned,
A lesson in life some already learned,
Each carry a scar they’ve undoubtedly earned.
