Captive Heart: A Prison of Memories and Dreams
It's strange how one soul can ensnare
My heart, my mind, beyond repair.
With each alert that I receive,
I pray it's you, that you believe.
But alas, reality creeps in,
The ties that bind are now too thin.
Memories fade, but dreams remain,
Where you're mine, and we regain.
In my dreams, we dance and play,
But waking brings the pain away.
I hold you in my every prayer,
To keep you safe, for you to care.
Your happiness I see in bloom,
In stories shared, in photographs too.
Mixed emotions swirl, both joy and pain,
That we're apart, and not together again.
You've locked me in a prison cell,
Where memories form the walls, so well.
I try to soar, to find my way,
But to you, my heart will always stay.
Years have passed, but hope remains,
With you by my side, in nightly chains.
In dreams we dance, we laugh, we love,
But reality always takes you above.
