Still

My breath leaves a trail in the chill of midnight
The shadowed earth painted in pallid moonlight
The wind sings a song lacking rhythm or rhyme
I’m here all alone in this stillness of mine

I whistle along to the angular tune
That rises and falls like the Nyiri dunes
the song staggers on irregardless of time
While here all alone in this stillness of mine
