The wall

Don Swanson 1979 (Boise Idaho)

As I lie there awake, staring at the walls, I stopped and think to myself what if it falls. I wondered to myself as the night goes on should I let go or should I hang on, I keep waiting and praying for the day, the phone rings and I pick up and they say "I miss you, I want to work it out, I want to do it slow, but I want to make it work",I wait for the day, let's face it I pray, I wait for the day I pick it up and they say, "time is passed and time is gone let's work it out let's be strong." sometimes I ask myself what can it be could it be a thought or just a dream. You never know what it might be until it happens in reality. As I lie awake and I stare at the wall I ask myself , is the pain worth it all? and I start crying because I know it is it's my life with her that's where it is.
