I Thought You Were above it

I Thought You Were Above It
By Nancy Rodriquez

I thought you were above it;
True love forgives and forgets;
Why do you hold my mistakes hostage;
You make my heart feel in a mix;
I keep hoping this is a nightmare of sorts;
Soon, to awaken from;
Reality leaves me with regret more;
Without you, life is all about work, and home for my son;
Tears form from my eyes;
and sometimes, it becomes difficult to hide;
You were my greatest love thus far;
We touched the moon, and every star;
You threw it all away, as if it were trash;
If you could stop judging, our love could not be in the past;
I feel as if the biggest part of me has died;
Left in mourning, without a chance of understanding why.

About this poem

Breakups are the worst. The poems are already written inside of my heart. They pour out of me like rain. I like to take the readers on a journey with each poem I write.
