A Mentor's Inspiration

A Mentor's Inspiration
By: Shyane A. Roa

I stayed in your womb for nine months
You suffered difficulties every second
Your pregnancy stage was misery
But you were able to deliver me cautiously

Now you raise me as a healthy baby
Until I turned into a responsible lady
You never overlook to prompt me
The right things every now and everyday

To wake up early was your day-to-day routines
Just to organize my personal belongings
Whatever I do, Wherever I am
You have been with me just to ensure my safety

Mama, you’re the master of every task
Thank you for imparting whatever I ask
I always pleaded with God to repay your kindness
Providentially, He swiftly granted my prayers

So, when God gave me chance to a higher degree
I grabbed the ample opportunity to study
Because I knew It was your ambition
That someday I’ll be holding my degree in education

Mama, now I am standing with pride and honor
For reaping the fruits of your labor
I am now a licensed mentor
Willing to teach the children with love and fervor….
