The Child and The Dream
Into the valley of woods i came
looking for a seed i sowed when i was a child.
But the greens led to emptiness..
The little boy understood not, yet gladly smiled;
Oh i ran around in a garden full of butterflies,
hoping for the grass to never grow.
But the weeds laughed..
The child was mystified yet the spirit kept the glow;
Oh i swam the river and into the blues,
wishing for time to stay as i sat by the sea under to play.
But the winds came..
The child awoke in tears, but then sadness lingered far away;
Oh i painted the skies into rainbows,
dreaming of night to never wake.
But child becomes man, and moon embraces sun..
His vision frozen, like rocks in the sand;
So deep into the forest i searched again
to find the path whence i traversed once.
The seed had died, but a tree was born, so i was told..
The child and the dream,
so entwined in a mystery perhaps no man can unfold.
About this poem
A child loves to play. Dreamland is his playground. His free spirit is without inhibitions and always ready to explore what life can offer. His perspective is not clouded with all sorts of life`s adversities, struggles, anxieties, restrictions, fears and challenges as what face a man as he grows older. Truth is the man i am sometimes could hardly understand the child in me. Oh..how i really wish i were a child again :)
